The Audi Experience

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Well I am starting my 4th week in a row on tour and what a four weeks it has been! After not playing so good in Turkey and making the cut I moved onto Portugal where I hit the ball amazing, I played really good apart from 4 holes, 2 triples and 2 doubles in 2 rounds will kill anyones score. So a very disappointing missed cut for me but things were on the up. We had an awesome apartment in Portugal, nice big rooms and a private pool with our very own inflatable alligator called Alan! It was hard to say bye but we had to drag ourselves away and take off for Germany.

Germany is one of the best tournaments the Ladies European Tour has, the atmosphere is awesome, the crowds are huge and the cars are fast! I took the Monday off and took a stroll round the shops in Munich, it is a very beautiful place with lots of history. Back to practice on the Tuesday and Wednesday and I was starting to hit the ball quite nicely so I was looking forward to a good week. The first time I played in Germany I missed the cut by 2, the 2nd time I missed by 1 so I was going for 3rd time lucky and it was!! I made the cut on the number and was lucky enough to have my boyfriend caddy for me on the weekend. My boyfriend caddies for Stacy Bregman and his name is Olly (Olly and Holly get the jokes in now!) and as she missed the cut he was kind enough to help me out over the weekend. I played well but unfortunately a lot of my putts didn't drop and I finished 55th, but hey it's money in the bank and every little helps at the minute! In between playing golf we managed to visit Dachau concentration camp which was a very sobering experience and one which I will never forget. We also got to drive the Audi R8 spiders as the tournament was sponsored by Audi and wow what an experience! We were allowed on the autobahn with no speed limit, I managed to get it up to 230km in rush hour, pretty happy with that effort!

So we hopped on another plane and I am now in Slovakia, had a light practice yesterday and 18 holes today. It is on a ski slope and is ridiculously hilly definitely a week where I wish I had a caddy, however on the plus side it's an easy way to get fit! We are forecast thunderstorms all week so we all have our fingers crossed we won't be called in too many times. I will keep updating my progress whenever I have internet, in the mean time. keep swinging well!!
